This 27-apartment development consisted of two basement levels with five residential levels above ground and is situated in Brisbane’s Mount Gravatt. RMA was engaged in the pre-DA stage to create an economic and effcient structure before the layouts were locked-in with DA approval.
RMA reduced the transfer structures to level two instead of the original design that repeated the transfer over three floors. This was then supported by a regular grid of columns, reducing the material required and providing ease in construction.
The design was also reconfigured to utilise the stairwell as part of the building’s core, greatly enlarging the bracing core of the structure. This eliminated transfer and complicated structures and allowed the stairwell to form part of the core of the structure.
