RMA was engaged as a trusted partner to provide and deliver expert knowledge and design for the civil components of the project.

This was a complex project incorporating multiple disciplines and differing consultants, consultation with the Department of Transport and Main Roads, ministerial delegation and external design auditing. In addition, an entire external redesign was required when construction was already underway.

Collaboration with all stakeholders and local council was paramount to the success of this modular, remote hospital.

Faced with a complex environment, RMA provided a high level of coordination among stakeholders to achieve the final design.

RMA provided an innovative and functional design providing;

• Optimised pavement design
• Reduced requirement for reinforced concrete boxed culverts
• Minimised the need for stormwater pits and pipes by encouraging sheet flow and table drains
• Removed the requriement for a detention basin

RMA collaborated closely to optimise design solutions, provide cost savings and deliver on time and on budget.
