The recently completed Bunnings in Acacia Ridge is a $30 million development constructed by Hutchinson Builders. RMA were engaged to undertake civil and structural engineering services for this new retail bulky goods store, delivering comprehensive stakeholder negotiation to deliver value for money results.

RMA’s civil team undertook construction management for the external upgrade of a Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) controlled intersection, requiring liaison with TMR to deliver the upgrade to their specified standards. In addition, the team provided construction management to realign an external DN335 watermain to the development site for water connection that required coordination with Queensland Urban Utilities.

Our structural team provided a design solution that worked with the 6-meter high elevated construction deck, including consideration of crane access to site and construction sequencing. After reviewing the initial design, our team recommended the use of onsite tilt panels rather than pre-cast walls. The use of on-site tilt panels created a construction cost saving of over $500,000 and provided increased efficiency and ease of construction.
