Health + Aged Care
Project Scope
Design and Construct

To meet the growing aged care needs of the local Toowoomba community, BUPA received development approval for a 108-bed residential, aged-care home catering for low-care, high-care and dementia.

RMA assisted McNab with a peer review of potential footing stability issues, using our extensive knowledge of the area’s soil conditions. RMA was able to provide a solution for McNab and in turn, we were engaged to complete the construction engineering.

RMA undertook a redesign of the footings and steel structure that worked with the soil conditions, as well as saving time and labour costs. We used FEA software to reduce the suspended slab thickness from 200mm to 180mm, saving construction costs for the client.
