Toowoomba Grammar School AIC - Toowoomba, QLD

Toowoomba Grammar School’s Agriculture and Industry Centre (AIC) aims to immerse students in practical, industry relevant experiences to develop industry leading skills and knowledge. This $8 million development will feature a range of state-of-the-art research and manufacturing spaces.

With extensive experience delivering high-quality education projects, our multi-disciplinary team delivered a fully integrated suite of civil, structural, and hydraulic engineering services. We collaborated closely with Neilson Project Management from concept to construction to deliver this innovative education facility.

Our structural team navigated a variety of competing constraints to produce a functional and efficient overall design solution. A key focus involved the steel detailing designed to meet specific fire performance solutions, whilst also integrating with feature glazing and brick facades details.

The stormwater solution required a bespoke design, resulting in a two-phase detention system. The design of the stormwater solution was fully coordinated with our internal hydraulic design team, providing significant project cost savings to the client.

Our dedicated Construction Management team undertook site surveillance, inspections as well as construction certification. All onsite earthworks were strategically designed and sequenced to optimise retaining wall heights while mitigating impacts to the existing adjacent structures. This was achieved through close collaboration with RMA Soils, enabling an efficient and cost-effective installation for the client.
